The Magic Metre

Audiophiles spend a fortune on proprietary mains cables, despite the miles of unscreened low-grade copper that precedes it in the walls of our homes and beyond. The same goes for that last metre of interconnect, USB or - as was the topic of a very popular Workshop at our Hi-Fi Show Live - that last metre of Ethernet cable. So, is this a collective delusion or is there a perfectly rational explanation why we might all experience a change in sound quality by replacing that last foot or three of copper? Of course, this is great fodder for the forum sceptics for whom such discussions are a handy stick to beat the open-minded audiophile. But we are not so daft or suggestable, as the swift A/B/C, etc, comparisons made in the AudioQuest suite readily illustrated.
