Low-level RFI and sound

I'd like to thank Keith Howard for his helpful reply in the May Sound Off pages to my question about testing mains regenerators. I appreciate the cost may be prohibitive to do what is in effect EMI testing, as Keith pointed out. But editor Paul Miller does have a very comprehensive suite of testing software and hardware for amplifiers, preamps, phono stages, etc. Would it not be helpful when testing these products (not mains regenerators) to inject a low level of RFI white noise alongside the test signals.
