Testing mains regenerators

I read Keith Howard's review and Lab Ttest of the PurePower+ 2000HV mains regenerator with interest [HFN Feb '17]. Listening to mains regenerators with and without them inserted between components is, of course, the ultimate test of their effectiveness. But since in essence they are very powerful low frequency amplifiers, would it be possible to do further tests on these devices? By this I mean those more akin to your normal nower amolifier tests?
