If you keep buying it, they'll just keep reissuing it: I genuinely can't count the number of audiophile versions. The 2014 6CD set and MoFi's 45rpm double LP should have capped rock's answer to Kind Of Blue, yet here we are again with a fresh SACD. But it makes sense: no extras, just the original tracks, sounding as good as it gets for non-LP users. But why another? Because this is simply one of the greatest live blues-rock albums of all time, the guitar playing is matchless - Duane and Dickie battling it out - and Gregg Allman never sang better. Every track, from the funky 'Statesboro Blues' right through to 22m 40s of an anguished 'Whipping Post', is a winner.
