Reader David Osborne indicated in the October Sound Off pages that he was concerned about the heat being generated from his Yamaha A-S2100 amp [HFN Dec '14]. I have had the same amplifier for three years now, and it does produce lots of heat, its temperature increasing the longer it is used for. This is particularly noticeable in summer when the casework is extremely hot to the touch after the amp has been in use for three hours.
