Incorporating no fewer than five drivers, AKG's £ 1000 N5005 earphones are the new crowning glory of its N series. Inside each capsule are three enclosures, supporting one 9.2mm full-range dynamic driver with a pair of BA (Balanced Armature) drivers in the other sections. The BA drivers are 'tuned' to augment the lower midrange and upper treble output, respectively, while four 'sound filters' (Bass Boost, Reference Sound, Semi-High Boost and High Boost) are provided to best suit the listener's taste. For wireless use the N5005 comes with a Bluetooth dongle (with a claimed eight hour battery life) that incorporates a three-button remote control and microphone.
