Text files stored on a computer and regularly backed up don't curl up at the edges or fade into illegibility, and they're much easier to trawl through than a pile of paper. One day recently, having set out to find something else, I found myself revisiting some 'Hi-fi@home' pieces that appeared in HFN ten years ago and more. I'll always be grateful to those Hi-Fi News readers who generously invited me into their homes and let me write about their systems. Through them, I learnt a lot and was able to sample a vast range of hi-fi products that I'd otherwise have missed out on.
