Back in the April issue, I explained that I was something of a latecomer to the DAP (Digital Audio Player) party and outlined my reasons for choosing the Questyle Audio QP1R. As the months have passed I'm using it more and more, but as is so often the case when new components come into one's life, it has revealed shortcomings in another piece of equipment I use: my headphones. Using them with the DAP rapidly made clear that they weren't really up to the job when it came to sound quality. What's more, as I began to look at them with a more critical eye, I realised they were showing signs of physical deterioration too, the plastic cushions on the earcups starting to peel and flake. It was time for a new pair of headphones.
