From Patient Care to Medical Device Security- IT's Challenge in a Pandemic World

How has the COVID-19 crisis created a shift in clinical, IT and operational workflows for your customers? In early 2020, after the initial wave of COVID-19, information technology and security personnel quickly shifted focus to visibility and addressing risks discovered during the initial course of the pandemic. From an IT perspective, our customers have a renewed focus on asset inventory projects, allowing their teams (clinical and operational) to know where unmanaged, IoT, and IoMT devices are at all times and how often they are being utilized. This helps IT teams distribute devices appropriately across facilities and field hospitals. It also helps reduce detective work for nurses and technicians that are looking for specific medical equipment; we've seen savings of potentially 20 minutes per shift, per employee.
