In Situ Bioremediation of Chlorinated Solvents Using Edible Oil

Groundwater contaminated with chlorinated solvents is a major problem at environmental sites throughout the United States. Chlorinated solvents are difficult to remediate, due to their complex distribution in both the vadose and saturated zones. In situ treatment of chlorinated solvents generally requires a sophisticated delivery process and mix of reagents to control subsurface geochemical conditions.
