Cross-Media Electronic Reporting Rule Revised to Exempt Financial Assistance Documents

EPAfinalized the cross-media electronic reporting rule on October 13, 2005 (70 FR 59848). The rule specifies the requirements for the electronic submittal of reports and documents required under the agency's environmental programs. Recently, the agency became aware that the rule is mistakenly being applied to documents and other information that are submitted pursuant to its financial assistance grant requirements. On November 17,2009 (74^59104-59106), EPA issued a final rule that clarifies the applicability of the cross-media electronic reporting rule.
