Glimpsed in the latest Red Hot Chilli Peppers video Can't Stop, a large yellow form resembling Europalite's Chem-Safe container is wielded energetically by lead singer Anthony Kiedis. The giant rotationally moulded container appears as part of a veritable visual jamboree of industrial packaging and plastics products, which the band members manipulate in time with the staccato beats of the song. Being able to survive the rigours of starring alongside the rock band, the container demonstrates strength and manoeuvrability. "We started in road safety, on the traffic side," says Europalite assistant managing director Julian Smith. The company's core business of road signs, traffic cones and road safety products are all somehow tied into safety, he elaborates. Wherever there are road works, more often than not, Europalite's boxy barriers can be seen forming a prominent red and white boundary to keep traffic at a safe distance from the project. On the front line of traffic management, the modular separators have to be sturdy and impact resistant, Smith explains.
