As is the case with other sectors, the pharmaceu-ticals industry finds itself faced with the increasing cost burden of meeting environmental tariffs coupled with the growing expense and inconvenience of used packagings disposal. Consequently, St Helens-headquartered FDL Packaging Group reports that it is seeing more and more customers opt for its fibre drums in preference to plastics or steel units as a more practical and economical way to overcome these hurdles.
