US-based Greif, the world's largest manufacturer of industrial packagings, has announced a first quarter 2008 GAA? net income of $60.7m, up nearly 80 per cent on the $34m achieved this time last year, from net sales of $846.3m, themselves up 13 per cent year-on-year from $750.8m. Included in the company's quarterly earnings was a net gain of $20.9m stemming from the sale of five industrial packaging facilities in Africa and Australia.
