The Thermosafe drum heater consists of a single induction coil encapsulated in a glass reinforced resin cylinder that when connected to a single phase AC mains supply generates heat directly and uniformly in the drum wall. As heating is achieved by an alternating magnetic field, no physical contact with the unit to be heated is needed. Furthermore, the Thermosafe itself remains much cooler than the drum it is heating. Available as either a Type A for operation with up to 240 volts AC or a Type B for operation at 110/120 volts AC, both models are fully ATEX- and IECEx-certified for use in Zone 1 and 2 hazardous areas and are designed to heat steel drums with filling capacities of up to 205 litres.
