McCarthy to lead SAFECOR

Jim McCarthy has been appointed vice-president, safety and compliance at Airgas, the largest US distributor of industrial, medical and speciality gases. McCarthy, who will report to executive vice-president and COO Mike Molinini, brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his new role, which includes the leadership of SAFECOR, the Airgas organisation responsible for developing and implementing the company's safety, compliance, environmental and risk management practices. McCarthy, who has served as director of gas supply chain for Airgas since 2008, will be responsible for aligning the principles and goals of SAFECOR with the new division structure of Airgas while simultaneously reinforcing the company's commitment to the promulgation of industry-wide safe working and driving practices.
