The restructuring of the UK fuel supply business, featuring refinery closures and the emergence of a new breed of independent operators, has meant terminal operators have had to review their own service offerings Less than three years ago Harvest Energy began storing road fuels at the Simon Storage terminal at Seal Sands, Teesside. Now a substantial proportion of the terminal's tankage is devoted to Harvests business, as a supply base for its distribution network and rapidly expanding commercial customer list. Simon's Seal Sands facility provides a fast and convenient fuel storage and distribution hub for Harvest Energy, which is one of the UK's largest independent blenders and suppliers of road fuels. Harvest has a market share of the UK road fuel market of more than 10 per cent, with around 100 forecourt retail outlets across the country.
