Univar's lead director William S Stavropoulos has taken over as the company's chairman of the board following the retirement of John J Zillmer. Stavropoulos returns to a post he previously held until April last year, when he was replaced by Zillmer following Zillmer's own replacement as president and CEO by former Ecolab president J Erik Fyrwald. Although he has now left Univar, Zillmer will continue to serve on the boards of Reynolds American and Ecolab. Furthermore, Univar reports, he will also "devote additional time and energy to his family's philanthropic endeavours, the John and Carol Zillmer Foundation, dedicated to the health and welfare of under-served children around the world".
