OT sells a slice of Helios

Oiltanking has sold a 45 per cent share in the Helios bunkering terminal in Singapore to Macquarie Capital. Oiltanking acquired the 503,000-m~3 facility last year from Chemoil and says it planned at the time to bring in a strategic partner; it says that Macquarie's access to institutional capital and its financial market capabilities make it an excellent fit. Helios is located on Jurong Island, a major oil hub for Asia. It was built specifically to handle and blend fuel oil and can handle very large crude carriers (VLCCs). The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals.
