In the middle of London's 2013 heatwave, it is alarming to look at the front page of the August 1983 issue of the Bulletin and read about two separate explosions involving the rupture of rail tank cars carrying hydrocarbon gases — all the more so in the wake of last month's horrific explosion on a crude oil unit train in Canada.
