摘要

Work isn't working. In the United Kingdom, despite high levels of employment, real wages are at a historic low, there is an increase in precarious work, and many of those in poverty are working families rather than the unemployed. These facts, combined with the continual rise in automation, are producing an ever-growing disparity in the distribution of both labor and wealth. Will Stronge, of the London think tank Autonomy, asks: "Is the current work-centered society beneficial for people; and is a continuation of this work-centered society a viable political aim in the new automated world we are entering?"
