"If you do a range, you do it well." That's the philosophy of The Hardware Centre, which has three shops in Sevenoaks, Kent. "Customers like choice," explains Stephen Martin, whose father started the business about 15 miles away at Bromley Hill in 1962. They closed this outlet and moved to Sevenoaks in the early 1970s, expanding the business in the 198C when shops next door and across the road became available.rn"Chain stores only offer a shelf to choose from but I believe that the customer expects a lot of choice," says Stephen.
