Charity benefits from competitive karting event

Despite tough trading conditions, the DIY and hardware industry raised almost £2,500 for the Rainy Day Trust at the 16th Annual Karting Challenge held at the Warrington Speedkarting Track. The event, sponsored this year by Stax Trade Centres, was organised by Stax joint managing director David Hibbert, who said: "As usual it was a great day and everyone involved had some fun. The standard of racing this year was probably the most competitive and exciting we've seen, with some real battles going on out on the track, not least between the three paint brands Dulux, Crown and Johnstones. It might explain the number of warning and black flags issued!"
