Cruise ships from KMY

Finnish Kvaerner Masa-Yards (KMY) with their facilities in Helsinki and Turku are currently building one cruise ship after the other. Helsinki New Shipyard constructs »Super-Panamax« units and Turku New Shipyard »Post-Panamax« vessels of RCI's »Eagle« class. Although the new ownership of Finnish Kvaerner Masa-Yards (KMY) is still not really known the yards in Helsinki and Turku continue to construct cruise ships of new designs in series. Anglo-Norwegian Kvaerner Group announced the sales of all 13 yards in early 1999 but so far managed only to put some of the smaller yards into new hands. KMY fought for a Finnish solution but so far did not succeed to finalise it. There remains an offer on the desk from Polish source but up to know Kvaerner's top management refused to accept it. So, KMY operate their business as usual and constructs as well as accepts contracts for ne-wbuildings. These newly built vessels and latest contracts are all for cruise ships.
