The inauguration of its new flagship »MSC Musica« indicated another milestone in MSC Cruises' ongoing expansion: Within just five years the company has nearly quintupled its bed capacity, developing from a medium-sized cruise operator into one of the industry's big players. And growth continues: MSC Cruises will take delivery of another four newbuildings up to 2009, holding options for more ships. »Our figures are very clear: We had 2,400 beds in 2002, we will have 22,400 beds by 2010, of which 80 % will be outside cabins«, explains Pier-francesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises.
