Ropes for Van Oord cable layer

Maritime ropes producer and supplier, Lankhorst Ropes, has supplied international contractor Van Oord with synthetic fibre ropes and lifting slings, steel wire ropes and associated confections for Van Oord's offshore wind cable-laying vessel »Nexus«. The ship will play a key part in the assembly of the 600 MW capacity Gemini wind farm in the Dutch part of the North Sea, 85 km offshore of the coast of Groningen. The »Nexus« will use several Lankhorst fibre ropes such as Tipto Twelve and Gripogreen and steel wire rope Lankopack for a variety of activities dur- ing cable laying. According to Lankhorst, Tipto Twelve floating mooring rope uses the highly abrasion resistant Tipto material in a twelve strand construction to produce a rounded, stable, compact rope which is easy to handle and offers an excellent length of service life. Lankopack is a compacted multi strand, non-rotating steel wire rope for hoisting.
