Freezing plant to new factory trawler

The Simek shipyard, located in Flekke-fjord, Norway, has chosen HVAC- and réfrigération system expert Teknotherm Marine to deliver the freezing plant with a dimensioning freezing capacity of 150 t of fish per 24 hrs for a new trawler. It is the yard's biggest contract ever. The 82,9 m freezer trawler will be desti-ned for Sealord Group in Nelson, New Zealand. The storage capacity on board is over 3,300 m3, of which 1,700 m3 are to be kept on -30° C by means of air coolers mounted under deck for natural air circulation. Further, there are two rooms for storage of fish meal in total 600 m~3, with fan cooling units to be installed. The re- frigerating machinery is based on pump circulation of ammonia, R-717, and in-cludes 3 screw compressors, all for op- timized power consumption at varying loads. Delivery of equipment is estima-ted to be in third quarter 2017.
