Andean Sling Braids is Owen's extension of his earlier work, Braids: 250 Patterns from Japan, Peru, and Beyond (Unicorn, 2004). In that book, he"translated"the handworking techniques used to construct sling braids into more easily followed instructions for the disc and Japanese marudai (a braiding stand used in making kumihimo braids).That book, together with this new book, makes esoteric Andean braiding techniques accessible to modern hands.
