SIXTY SCARVES FOR 60 YEARS: REVISED EDITION WITH BONUS CONTENT

Almost a decade ago, theWeavers Guild of Baltimore celebrated its 60th anniversary with a book of 60 weaving patterns: one scarf for every year. The book was a resounding success, and the limited print run sold out quickly. Fortunately for those of us who missed the original printing of the book, the guild, with help from designer and weaver Sara Bixler, has reissued the book, and it is better than ever. Though the title remains the same, the revised book now contains more than 60 scarves-66 to be precise. In addition to the extra projects, errors in the previous printing have been fixed, and discontinued yarns have been updated. Although the projects are united in the common theme of "scarf," the diversity within the projects is astounding-both in structure and number of shafts required to weave them. In fact, while she was revising the book, Bixler made sure to note which projects were suitable for a rigid-heddle loom, making the book accessible to even more weavers.
