Abanaki Oil Skimmer Removes Grease from Steel Mill Waste Water

Abanaki Corp. offers the Grease Grabber oil skimmer specially desig-ned for the harsh conditions of the steel-making industry where heavy greases and oils accumulate in the steel mill scale pit. The Grease Grabber removes grease from steel mill waste water and recirculating water systems, eliminating the cost of sucker truck disposal and protecting expensive sand filtration systems. Abanaki's patented oil skimmer system provides a con-tinuously operating belt and wiper that can remove up to 160 gal/h of grease and oil. The belt makes use of the dif-ferences in specific gravity and surface tension between oil and water, attract-ing grease as the belt passes through the surface of the water and discharg-ing it into tramp waste containers. The Grease Grabber oil skimmer is designed particularly for the demand-ing outdoor environment of the scale pit, where heavy loads of grease and oil accumulate.
