A82 rockfall highlights need for further work

Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) has said it is likely to accelerate the programme of work to remove rock debris that closed the A82 between Invermoriston and Drumnadrochit in mid-March and which had been planned for later in the year . The route was closed after several large blocks of rock fell from a slope within the commission's land. Investigations following the initial rockfall identified a number of other unstable blocks of rock on the slopes above the road, which were broken up ahead of the route reopening on 16 March.
