Haunted Housing: Eco-Vanguardism, Eviction, and the Biopolitics of Sustainability in New Orleans

The place of this image is at once ultraprecise and endlessly insecure. Ultraprecise in that the Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) technology that produced it registers in great aerial-perspective detail the differential elevation of a determinate sector on the earth's surface, distinguishing on a gradual chromatic scale high-lying areas (light) from low-lying areas (dark). Insecure, because along with the sheer topographic data it evidences, the image is already marked by the memory-and oblivion-of disaster.
