New pesticide could hold key to removing zebra mussels

Researchers plan to test a biological pesticide that could stop the spread of an invasive mussel species in Wisconsin. Scientists with the U.S. Geological Survey plan to spread the bacteria, known as Zequanox, in Keyes Lake, Wis., next month to see whether the substance is effective against zebra mussels.
