Wisconsin Rep. Tom Petri (R) will announce today that he will retire after more than 35 years in Congress, opting not to seek re-election to his Oshkosh-based seat. Petri, 73, who will hold a town hall meeting in Neenah, Wis., this afternoon to detail his decision, has held the seat since 1979, when he won a special election to replace the late-Rep. William Steiger (R).
