U.S. EPA's inspector general has launched an audit of how agency offices handle sensitive information, including the watchdog's frequent antagonist, the Office of Homeland Security. In a notice released today, the agency watchdog said it will probe to "what extent the EPA implemented information system security policies and procedures to protect agency systems that provide access to national security or personally identifiable information." The investigation is mandated by the Cybersecurity Act of 2015, according to the notification signed by Rudolph Brevard, director of information resources management audits for the EPA IG.
