The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee scrapped consideration of President Trump's nominee for Office of Personnel Management director this morning. Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said some of his colleagues wanted to gather more information from John Gibbs, a former conservative commenter who has flogged conspiracy theories. They include statements that Hillary Clinton campaign aide John Podesta participated in satanic rituals and that millions of undocumented immigrants voted in the 2016 election. It's unclear when the Senate panel will consider his nomination.
