Watchdog confronts 'very difficult' tribal oversight

The former Fort Peck Tribes police officer, Willard Wilson White III, awaits sentencing next month after pleading guilty to charges of wire fraud and income tax evasion. He admitted to defrauding the tribes of $40,000, which he spent on his own appetites. White was busted last year with the help of investigators from Interior's Office of Inspector General, now under the leadership of Inspector General Mark Lee Greenblatt. More of the same could be on the way as Greenblatt settles into the job he started Aug. 26.
