Social housing starts down 70% from June last year

The number of social housing starts was down by over 70% in June on the same month last year, according to the latest figures from the National House Building Council (NHBC). The figures (see below) show the number of social homes registered with the NHBC in June dropped to 1,643, compared to 5,536 a year earlier, and show private starts are also much lower than in June 2011.
