Working assiduously on multiple levels of inte-gration, EFI has placed itself in a strong position, just two years after its acquisition of PrintCafe. Originally formed with a loan from and in participation with Creo, PrintCafe had previously acquired the majority of print industry management information systems installations of significant size by purchasing Hagen, Logic, PSI, PrintSmith and other related software. This gave EFI the leading MIS installed base with over 8,000 users. EFI is advancing integration on three levels: blending the PrintCafe entities with each other; linking these with its main print-driving product lines; and, all the while, integrating to JDF standards compliance. In this latter arena, EFI connects its own products, but opens opportunities for third-party MIS system connection as well.
