u-blox' Dead-Reckoning System Enables Nav in Tunnels, Garages

u-blox has released a an Automotive Dead Reckoning (ADR) system, which has been implemented in in-dash navigation and eCall systems by top-tier automotive car electronics suppliers to German automakers. The system blends input from GPS satellites with vehicle sensors to determine position even where GPS signals are blocked or weak, u-blox said, such as tunnels and underground garages, and is compatible with virtually any car model or drive train type.
