The M in the title of this book refers to mobile where the mobile is not your rural bookmobile but mobile and portable interactive electronic devices. It is one of the first monographs to specifically address the emerging field of mobile libraries. This collection of essays is based on the proceedings of the First International M-Libraries Conference (2007) and includes twenty-five chapters divided into four broad categories: The Changing Landscape, Mobile Technology for Development, Initiative Innovations, and Challenges and Practice Perspectives.
