PCB supply is expected to surge across Asia as makers in mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong are ramp up their production. PCB makers are either setting up additional factories or upgrading their production equipment in response to the growing demand from the consumer electronics, PC and peripherals, telecom and automotive sectors. With a supply base of up of 400 to 500, mainland China is forecast to become the world's production base of double-sided and multilayer PCBs. Last year, the combined output for double-sided and multilayer PCBs reached 52 million square meters, accounting for 61 percent of mainland China's total PCB output. The China Printed Circuit Association estimates that the country's supply will soar up by 20 percent this year and next year.
