Mainland China makers of diodes and thyristors are raising the reverse withstand voltage to meet various requirements in the electronics and home appliances sectors. They offer units surpassing 1,500V and 10,000V for respective categories, exceeding the 700V and 3,000V common in mainstream releases. Suppliers use wafers from Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Germany or the US for such models.
