Higher efficiency and reliability, and miniaturization stay on the R&D agenda of China makers of DC-DC converters. Companies continue to raise the bar to strengthen hold on the computer and communications markets, which account for more than 70 percent of output. They are also taking advantage of growing opportunities in industrial, military, aerospace and medical applications. To improve the first aspect further,manufacturers focus on reducing power loss from switching, rectification and conduction. They adopt mainly soft switching technology to realize zero voltage or current turn on and off. At present, the zero transition pulse width modulation method and variants zero-voltage,-current, and zero-current zero-voltage are used.
