Disaster Mapping 2.0

摘要

There has been a recent increase in the incidence of major disasters and the damage caused, in terms both of human suffering and economic cost. To mitigate the consequences, better post-disaster management tools are needed and GIS plays a major role here. Current technological developments in GIS and collaborative web-based mapping using interoperable geo-webservices and user-generated content could take disaster mapping an important step forward.
