After 5 years of dedicated and hard work as Editor-in-Chief, Marcelo has decided to step aside. Fortunately, he has agreed to stay on as a member of the editorial team as Associate Editor for the Americas. When I was appointed as Co-Editor in January 2008, I accepted on the condition that Marcelo continue as Co-Editor for at least a transition period. 1 am grateful to him for mentoring me during the past year, and look forward to his wise counsel during my tenure as Editor-in-Chief.rnStarting with the first issue of 2009 (Volume 38, No. 1), the publisher, Elsevier, decided to switch to a 210 mm by 280 mm format (from 165 mm by 240 mm) and to a quarterly (four numbers per year) publication. The quarterly frequency does not mean a reduction in the number of papers published during the year. As previously planned, the Advisory and Editorial Boards for the journal have been merged. The membership of the new Editorial Board will be rotated from time to time.
