One constant has characterized land seismic acquisition ever since the first crews set out to gather data early in the last century. That constant is challenge. Terrain is often treacherous, weather sometimes harsh and the equipment heavy and cumbersome. Equipment maintenance is another time-consuming task, and the modern-day demand for a small environmental footprint complicates seismic surveys still further.
