摘要

We have demonstrated that the concept of virtual source can be extended to crosswell geometries. Our virtual crosswell image matches well with the corresponding real crosswell image and the surface seismic data. Because it is fueled by conventional surface sources, virtual crosswell data have lower frequency content as compared to real crosswell data. Nonetheless, virtual crosswell surveys have a number of advantages when imaging below complex and anomalous overburden, especially for moderate interwell distances (~500 m), such as the flexibility in the radiation pattern and the ability to radiate only P- or only S-waves.
