It is a great privilege to write this citation for Joost van der Neut, who receives the J. Clarence Karcher Award for his excellent research and presentation skills. Joost is an exceptionally talented young geophysicist who has made several impressive contributions to the field of seismic imaging and yet is modest about his own accomplishments.
