This book is a successor to Young and Young's 1992 book of the same name. It is comprised of 9 chapters, followed by 25 pages of references and a useful topical index. The book is profusely illustrated with over 130 black-and-white photographs of excellent quality and detail. This volume provides a great deal more information about solutional processes and landforms in sandstone than did the 1992 book. The book is truly international, with examples of sandstone processes and landforms from every continent including Antarctica. The sequencing of the chapters is a bit idiosyncratic, in that it begins with an introduction and subsequent examination of the lithological variations among sandstones, which are followed by two chapters that examine landform shapes - Chapter 3 examines cliffs in sandstone, and Chapter 4 examines curved slopes.
